Additionally, the rocky intertidal area at Cabrillo National Monument is one of the best protected examples of Southern California’s unique ecosystems.

Chicano Park

Chicano Park is the geographic and emotional heart of Barrio Logan, located in Logan Heights, San Diego's oldest Mexican-American neighborhood. The park is home to the largest concentration of Chicano murals in the world with more than 80 paintings on seven acres dotted with sculpture, gardens, picnic tables, and playgrounds. Not only does Chicano Park host festivals of music and Aztec dance, it is also the hub of an emerging arts district, with galleries, boutiques, brewpubs, and craft coffee shops nearby.

Casa del Prado Theatre

The historic Casa Del Prado Theatre is home to a number of youth arts organizations, the Park & Recreation Dance Program, and the San Diego Botanical Garden Foundation and Library. The Casa del Prado is a building with a full schedule of activities and artistic performances. Christian Youth Theatre

Christian Youth Theater is an after-school theater arts training program for students ages 4-18.  Since its founding in 1980, CYT has grown to be the largest youth theater program in the nation, with Branches across the country training thousands of students a year. CYT develops character and creativity in kids of all ages through quality theater arts training that brings families and communities together. CYT stands at the forefront in its commitment to the highest ethical, moral, technical, and artistic standards of excellence.

Classics 4 Kids

Classics 4 Kids is a music education organization that provides both concert performances and in-school programs, inspiring students through cultural awareness, creative inspiration, and an enhanced appreciation for live classical music. Each season, Classics 4 Kids performs 12 professional orchestra concerts as field trip events at the historic Balboa Theatre. Each participating class receives an optional free docent visit two weeks prior, who are accompanied with a free audio CD and detailed lesson plan.
