The Japanese Friendship Garden offers a traditional Japanese garden as a center to educate, engage, and inspire people of diverse backgrounds about Japanese culture and community legacy. The garden serves as a beacon of friendship between cultures and creates an immersive experience into traditional Japanese Gardens. As a valued community resource, it is well known for its unique setting, stone arrangements, koi ponds, water features, sukiya-style buildings and landscape.

Sign-up and explore the Japanese Friendship Garden in beautiful Balboa Park. The 12 acre garden is full of plants, natural wildlife and Japanese culture. The Japanese Friendship Garden is a peaceful place where wellness is encouraged and taught. Your tour will include our bronze statues, colorful koi fish, history and more. This tour can be scheduled for 30 or 45 minutes followed by Q&A to fit your schedule.
