San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance

Teachers! Bring your K-12 classes to the Zoo to learn about habitats and food webs, conservation, and best practices in wildlife care. Some field trips are open to all K-12 San Diego County schools. Others are for Title 1 Schools only.

Adaptation Connections
Bring your 2nd-grade class to the Zoo for a guided field trip with an up-close animal encounter and a private bus tour!
This program is open to ALL 2nd-grade classes in San Diego County, including non-Title I schools and homeschool programs with a minimum of 15 students. We can accommodate 40 people (37 students, 3 chaperones) per bus and run two buses per program. When you request your reservation, please select the number of students and classroom teachers who will be attending. If you group plans to bring additional adult chaperones, including aides for students who require 1:1 support, you will have the opportunity to list this information later in the reservation process.

A Zoo Educator and an animal ambassador visit your classroom to guide your students on an exciting adventure to explore the NGSS Weather and Climate standards for 3rd grade. Then schedule an on-site field trip to bring your class to the Zoo and further develop your students' skills as researchers and build upon what they learned in the classroom program.

Dr. Zoolittle, a Zoo Educator, and an animal ambassador will visit 4th Grade classes at your school. Then, schedule an on-site field trip to bring your class to the Zoo and visit our team for a 90-minute program, after which you have the rest of the day to explore the Zoo.
