This fun seminar with The Roustabouts' Artistic Director Phil Johnson, an actor, writer, singer, director, producer, architect, and designer who has spent his life in the arts, will offer you some insights about different classes, contest submissions, colleges, and other areas in which to find people in your fields right now – all the things that you want to get started on as you think about life after high school and your college years. Enjoy this introductory talk with Johnson and take some of the stress and mystery out of it.

Students will have the opportunity to tap into their comedic sides with this interactive class. Improv comedy is the cornerstone for many areas of entertainment: acting, writing, stand-up. We’ll test their skills, motivate, and inspire them with games and scenes. We’ll give your students character suggestions and give them an opportunity to let their imaginations run wild! That’s how comedy is made.

Have you been thinking about writing a play and want to know where to start? In this virtual workshop, students will have the opportunity to work with playwrights Phil Johnson and Will Cooper. They’ll engage in interactive activities to get insights as to how to get their ideas crystallized in addition to a brief introduction to understanding how to skillfully combine many elements to begin to take those creative ideas from concept to culmination.
